Daily Thanks – 4 of 30

Day 4: When you talk about being alive, the first thing that comes to mind for most is your heartbeat. Another thing that we take for granted – beating all day, everyday, without rest.
The heart pumps freshly oxygenated blood to each of the trillions of cells in our bodies every minute. In just a day that’s over 100,000 heartbeats moving 2,000 gallons of blood through 60,000 miles of blood vessels in our bodies…Not bad for a muscle no bigger than your fist.
The complexity and yet simplicity of our body’s design is all thanks to God, our original Parent, Creator, and engineer for that matter. Thank you for this tiny battery that keeps us energized each day!

Taiheiyo Church

I am a fourth generation American of Japanese descent. My great-grandfather immigrated to Hawaii in 1907, and founded Taiheiyo Church in 1931. My grandfather became the 2nd head minister in 1956, and my father succeeded him as the 3rd head minister in 1981. On November 7, 2015, I was installed as the 4th head minister.
