Daily Thanks – 20 of 30

I love riding roller coasters! But I can’t handle rides that just spin or go around in circles. Once we took the kids to the 50th State Fair & the third ride my daughter wanted to go on was that one that looks like a hand glider. That thing went on for what felt like 20 minutes and when I got off I could barely walk.
She was just fine & wanted to ride the next ride but I was out of commission. I had to lie down under the tent & could not move. I rested for 15 minutes but still felt like throwing up when I tried to get up and walk.
Finally after another 20 minutes I could stand but told my wife sorry but we had to go home. Kids we bummed but I was done. I remember having to recline the car seat & close my eyes all the way home. It wasn’t til around 8 hours later that I finally felt back to normal.  A few people in the office where I work suffer from Vertigo. I don’t have it but if it’s anything like how I felt that day, I really sympathize with them.
It’s strange how a tiny amount of fluid in the inner ear allows us to maintain balance, equilibrium, and spacial orientation, but when that fluid gets a little out of whack, our whole world can turn upside down (no pun intended). We cannot work, play, or even get out of bed, despite being in otherwise perfect health.
God the Parent has gone through exhaustive efforts and hundreds of millions of years to develop our bodies so that it functions perfectly. Each system, each component, each organ, plays a critical role in our health & happiness regardless of how insignificant (like endolymph, or ear fluid) can seem.
Let me say for the 20th time how THANKFUL I am for the daily blessings I receive that is the continuous working of this body, borrowed from God the Parent!
