Daily Thanks – 25 of 30

As many of you know, one of my daughters is autistic and cannot speak. Well she actually can speak but unless you spend a lot of time with her, you can’t make out what she’s trying to say. Even my wife and I have difficulty sometimes understanding her words.
Because she’s unable to fully communicate her wants and needs to others, she gets frustrated often, which at times leads to tantrums and other undesirable behavior such as pinching or even biting.
I always thought “If she could only say what was on her mind, how much better her quality of life would be!”
The aspect of God’s providence which governs our breathing is the same as that of speaking. It the world, it manifests as the air and the wind.
Unlike all the other species in the animal kingdom, human beings have been blessed with this wonderful gift of complex speech and communication. God, our Parent, has provided us with this gift of speaking (like all the other marvelous workings of the body) so that we can live the Joyous Life with others.
On Day 25 of celebrating the amazing body, which we all borrow from God, let us not take for granted our ability to talk and verbally convey our feelings. Let’s show our appreciation to God by making a conscious effort to say things that will bring happiness and joy to others.
